Welcome to Heat on the Meat Kennels.  Located in Powhatan, Virginia, our kennel has been in operation since 1998.  While all three of the kennel members – Mitch Mcgee, Billy Stephens, and Tyler Knarr have been hunting with dogs for well over 20 years, it wasn’t until 1999 when they began to combine forces.  It was during that year that Mitch and Billy began to take the best of their best and started breeding, raising, and training a powerful track running beagle.   Little did they know that this was the start to an excellent bloodline that would make deer hunting and field trialing these dogs a success for many years to come.  Through strategic breeding, the next eleven years yielded an even more powerful beagle built specifically for speed, heart, and size.  Late in 2008, Tyler Knarr joined the kennel adding additional resources, allowing the kennel to grow to a whole new level.  Today our kennel currently has over 50 beagles/walker beagle mixes that are hunted, field trialed, and cared for daily.  We hope you enjoy your tour around our website.  Feel free to leave any comments about the videos and pictures in the blog- board section.  Happy hunting and remember….support your local dog hunting associations so this sport we love so much can be passed on to our future generations.
